Lowell Mason-- Singing CareerLowell Mason's singing career has spanned seven (7) decades!
In 1946, at the tender age of 9 years, Lewis and Delia helped Lowell begin singing for the "Children's Bible Hour" radio program out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aunt Beth and all the "happy kids" helped him get his start; and then he was on his way! By his teen years, Lowell would be travelling the Midwest (and beyond) doing concerts and youth rallies. His parents would drop him off at a bus station, have someone to pick him up on the other end and take care of him, then return him to the bus station for his trip home! His "fame" reached to Missouri, where Cecil Todd was told of Lowell's ministry and suggested to invite Lowell to join Cecil's ministry. During the summer following Lowell's Junior year in high school, he travelled with Cecil. Lowell attended Manhatten Bible College for one year, He also had a pulpit ministry on the weekends that year. He would later receive his Doctor of Divinity, an honorary degree, from Kerala Christian College, for excellence in world missions. 1954 was the year that Lowell would join Cecil Todd Evangelistic Association for the first time, as a Song Leader and Music Director. Lowell had just finished his Junior in High School at the time. They would travel the country doing revivals and crusades. Lowell, would return to Michigan to complete his Senior year.
Eventually, Lowell would move to Clayton, Kansas to be with the Todd's. He also served as a County Deputy Sherriff during this time. 1964 "Revival Fires Ministries" came into being. Giant Tent Revivals, Auditorium Crusades along with a weekly television program that was run on 150 stations kept them quite busy. They would tour the country and internationally. Lowell would become the Vice President and remained active until 2020 when he was no longer able to tour. |
