 God sent Hosea to compare Israel to an unfaithful wife. God sent Amos to confront Israel's sin.  God sent Jonah to Assyria to call for repentance. They did repent and were spared. God sent Nahum about 100 years later with the same message and they did not repent.  God sent message to Edom through Obadiah about their wickedness. He sent messages to the others surrounding nations by various prophets, confronting their sin and warning of destruction.  God sent Joel, Micah, Habakkuk and Zephaniah to warn Judah of their sin and call them to repentance.  God sent Isaiah to Judah to confront sin, warn of punishment and promise the coming Messiah.
