Sermon on the Mount"Now when He saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, and He began to teach them, saying:" -- Matthew 5:1,2
BEATITUDES: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. BLessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven for in the same way they persecuted the prophtes who were before you." (Matthew 5:3-12) LOVE FOR ENEMIES: " But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Matthew 5:44, 45) LORD'S PRAYER "This then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed by Thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. (Matthew 6:9-13) ASK, SEEK, KNOCK "Ask and it will be given to you, Seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7) WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDERS "Therefore everyone who hears these words of min and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had its's foundation on the rock." (Matthew 7:24, 25) God's love allowed Jesus to come and teach us the right attitudes in life (Beatitudes), importance of loving others, how to pray, putting God's Kingdom first, blessings of asking God and how imperative it is to build our lives on Jesus Christ. |
Praise God-- for His kindness
"How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in You."

Thank God-- for His love
"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as He is pure."
